When you buy an iPad, you should be able to maximize it to your advantage. Every new release of a different model by Apple comes with some new or modified features. However, a general knowledge of how the device works will help you manipulate any new entrant without difficulty. Organize your files and apps into folders

 

You can organize the different applications and files on your tablet into specific folders for ease of identification and access. Press your finger on the application you want until all the other apps begin shaking. Drag and drop it on to another app that you want in the same folder. The iPad will automatically create the folder. You can then drag the rest of the apps in your selected category and drop them in the folder.

Locking and unlocking screen orientation

The default setting of the iPad makes the screen orientation to alternate between landscape and portrait in case of a slight tilt. This may inconvenience you when you are watching a movie clip. Check if the iPad has a lock button beside the volume controls.If it does not, or if the button mutes the machine on flipping it, go to Home and double click on it. The volume controls will appear; besides them on the left is the lock icon.

Searching for applications on the device

As you get used to the iPad, you will start downloading lots of applications for various uses. It might become hectic to find an app you installed and going through several folders will waste time. Make use of the Spotlight Search on the Home page of the device. Type the name of the application and within seconds, you will have it. This method can also be helpful in finding contacts, emails, and other applications. The buttons on the side of the iPad helps you to control music. You can pause, play and stop. However, there is no option for skipping a song. In this event, you can use the onscreen music controls. Access them by going to the Home icon, double click it and the controls will appear. From there, you can pick the skip button.

Parental control on applications

Downloading applications and playing games can cost you a lot of money. If children have access to your iPad, you can easily control what they download. Go to Settings and select General, which is usually located on the left side. Scroll down to Restrictions. Choose Enable and enter a password. Then select any In-App Purchases icon that you do not want and put it off. The apps will no longer be visible. If by any chance someone gets to them, they will not be able to use because of the restrictions. You can also watch movies and music from your iPad on a bigger screen. Apple TV allows you to connect the device with HDTV without cable. However, you can still buy and adapter to connect the device with TV.
